A View From the Top

Tyler and I travelled to St. Louis last Saturday. The trip is 120 miles one-way, but it was completely worth the time in the car. Our first stop was Costco where we bought a T.V. and a few things we needed. The second stop was The Gateway Arch; a bit touristy, but fun! We travelled to the top of the Arch in a spherical elevator five little seats. The door into the elevator is 4 feet tall and the space inside is quite tight. Upon your arrival up 630 feet you can see over the Mississippi River on one side and over the city of St. Louis on the other.

This is me outside of the Arch -- notice the puffer coat; it was super cold! Who knew that the Arch was made of steel?! We were under the impression it was made of concrete, but no it is made of steel. Tyler and I also learned that the Gateway Arch is a memorial to Thomas Jefferson and his vision to buy the Louisiana Purchase and open up the West for Americans.
This is a view of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball stadium.
A picture of us at the top of the Arch.
Since we've been married and started our Army life we have gotten the opportunity to see a few different cities and do many new and exciting things.

Cool pictures! Next time you go to the steel arch in winter, see if you can get Tyler to lick the arch!
