He Loves Me...

Today I got a call from an unknown number and when I returned the call it was a local flower shop asking when I'd be home so they could deliver flowers. I was stoked, but I couldn't figure out who they were from because Tyler's internet is down and he'd have to have internet to send them. But, when I opened the card, guess who they're from?! ... TYLER! The flowers are beautiful, but the thought is priceless, T! They made my day. I'd rather have a random day flower delivery than a Valentine's delivery any day; thanks babe for making my day! :)

This is the "Spring Mix."
Up close. Babe, I'm using my new camera (duh!) without the flash ... I think the pictures look great. I even figured out how to turn up the ISP, too. Aren't you proud?!
The roses are tucked away and should fill out soon!
These pink flowers look like azaleas. I doubt they are, but they still make me think of springtime in NC!

Sewing Up A Storm.

Last Saturday I spent an hour and a half at Joann Fabrics picking up several new things. A lady, Cynthia, helped me ... she was the most helpful person I've ever met there. I got fabric for my kitchen curtains (my main goal before Tyler gets home), a border for my dining room curtains and fabric for a tablecloth to fit my oddly shaped table. I came home and sewed up a few things, and I look forward to finishing my curtains soon.

I had to show my straight seam! :)
The fabric (I had it previously) for my table runner. So fun!
The linens I used for a Breakfast for Dinner party with fun girlfriends. I made napkins out of the same fabric and I bought yellow tulips for the table, too. It was great ... and springy!

Spring was (Almost) Here.

The past week has been absolutely beautiful! These are pictures taken last night around 6:15 pm .. yes, PM!!! The sun was setting on the way to my Bible Study and the mountains were beautiful. Unfortunately, none of these pictures do these mountains justice; the sun had turned the mountains pink and purple, so cool!

I have worn sunglasses for the last week, loved the warmth and sun, and so LOVED having a black, not white, driveway again. BUT THEN .... I woke up this morning, let Bella out and realized it. was. snowing. UGH. Now that I have reshoveled the driveway, the snow is quite nice. New snow always freshens things up and makes the winter pretty again. Although I set myself up for a little disappointment by thinking Spring was right around the corner, I enjoyed the week of warmth and sun!

Outside of my neighborhood.

On "the Glenn," the only highway anywhere close to us. This one road is the only way to connect hundreds miles of Alaska.
Gearing up to shovel.
Although you can't really tell, there are about 6 or 7" of snow. You can kind of see with the boot print outside of the garage.

Bella's Favorite Snow Pile

Bella LOVES the snow...have I told you that lately? Recently we thought about taking her to a parking lot that has a HUGE snow pile, and she LOVED it. The pile was made by pushing lots of snow out of a big parking lot just down the street from our neighborhood. We throw the ball down the parking lot and she books it down to retrieve the ball and then back to us. We also throw the ball up the mound and she runs up and then bolts back down ... its so fun.

Tyler & Bella.
Darting down the hill.
Peeking over the top with Tyler.
She carried her ball all the way home ... it was really cute.
Still holding the ball...

Happy Birthday, Tyler!

Happy Birthday, Tyler! I know you've been celebrating for almost 24 hours, but it is just striking midnight at home. I'm glad your birthday has been celebrated around the world this year, a full 24 hours of fun! Below are some pictures of us and captions that include some of the things I love most about you...enjoy!

I love that you began dating me even though I had a terrible haircut and kind-of-a round face. I admire how you always look through people to their true character ... thank you for doing the same for me.
I love how passionate you are about people, causes and things you believe in. Here we are celebrating a Wake win that sent us to the Orange Bowl. Tonight you can celebrate an 11-point win over Georgia Tech .. we're now number 2 in the ACC!!
I love your white hat, and sometimes wish you still could wear it. I also really like it when you wear that green coat. Here we're bundled for a cold football game at Wake; thanks for teaching me how to bundle, both there and in Alaska.
I love being silly with you. This picture was taken at our favorite bar in Winston .. Foothills .. weeks before we were married. I love how we spent so much time with friends senior year of college. Both together or apart, we continued to invest in those around us who we love so dearly.
Thank you for asking me to be your wife. You are my very best friend and greatest confidant. My favorite couch buddy and Saturday bum around companion. I love snuggling with you (most) every night before bed, laughing until we cry and exploring the world around us one day at a time. I'm thankful for your heart for the Lord and the joy that you bring to my life. Thank you for letting me be with you for the next 24 years of your wonderful life.
**Sorry this is small.

I miss...

...the sound of rain. I know that sound weird, but I do. I cannot tell you the last time I heard soft pitter-patters on the windows or the roof as I'm trying to go to sleep. Today it was 34*F and the roads were wet, not frozen, wet and it made me miss rain and the smell of a good summer's rain. Maybe I'll hear one when I'm home in March or this summer (Dad don't hate me for wishing rain in late summer!), we'll see. If it does rain then and I'm sad it isn't sunny, please remind me of this post.
