Meet the Newest "Member" of our Family

Okay ... so we don't have a real new member of our family, but I got your attention!! We have this cute little guy named "Helmet the Turtle" ... isn't he precious?! His shell is a Army helmet from WWII and his legs are drill bits for some big Army machine. My Mom sent us this little guy and we just think he's too cute!

The artist found a surplus of Army helmets and was reminded of his grandfather's quote: "War starts up quickly, but peace comes slowly over time," hence a turtle that moves slow.
Thanks, Mom!

TWO YEARS!!

Two years ago today Tyler and I were married! That weekend was so fun, but the next two years have been the most wonderful years of our lives. There are a few statistics that sum up our two years in numbers:
Adopted 1 pet.
Married for 2 years.
Lived in 3 states.
Called 4 houses "home."
Lived apart for 5 months.
Road-tripped to Missouri twice, and then to Alaska ... over 3000 miles; whew!
Our current home, and fabulous yard. We love to work in the yard after dinner and on the weekends.
My anniversary flowers ... my babe is the best!
Another picture of my beautiful buds!

Lately...

We have been so busy lately! I finished school, immediately fed the Battalion at a picnic, took a 30-minute nap and then chaperoned a high school lock-in. I spent the next two weeks in school, as a student, with a smattering of cookouts, birthdays, gardening and home projects in between!

Tyler and I spent two weeks riding around with the top off in 70* weather!! :)
Bella girl at Eklutna lake. We love the orange collar!
She LOVES to shake in the water .. it isn't quite as efficient as shaking out of the water!
Lovin' the water!
